Effective: 04/01/2002
The uniform makes the Scout Troop visible as a force for good and creates a positive youth image in the community. Wearing the uniform is an action that shows your commitment to the aims and purposes of Scouting. The uniform gives you identity in a world brotherhood of youth who believe in the same ideals.
You are required to have a regulation Boy Scout uniform worn in an official manner. Adult leaders are also encouraged to wear the adult Boy Scout uniform. There are different kinds of accepted uniforms depending upon the activity involved. (see below)

The Class A uniform is the required uniform for general meetings and other times where Class A is announced.
The Class B uniform is the required uniform for physical activities and other times where Class B is announced.
The Class C uniform is the required uniform for heavy physical activities and other times where Class C is announced.
If the cost of a uniform is a financial burden please see the Scoutmaster or the Assistant Scoutmaster. There may be pass-along uniform clothing available within the Troop. We encourage the donation of pass-alongs, as Scouts often quickly outgrow their uniforms and the pass-along program helps keep costs under control.
Uniforms and other Scout equipment is available from Gervins Sport Shop 82 Main Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095,(732) 634-7474; or other local stores; or the Scout Shop at the Central Jersey Council Office 4315 U.S. Highway 1 South, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852, 609-419-1600. Check with other troop members for information.
You are required to wear the patches designated under the Class A uniform requirements above. The Boy Scout Handbook provides detailed information on the proper placement of all patches and insignia. If you have any questions about the proper placement of insignia see your troop guide or Patrol leader for guidance.
